You know those pub chats that you do occassionally follow through? That's exactly what happend to 5 unfitties who thought climbing Mt Blanc would be a good idea. In early September 2007, these 5 meet up with another 6 innocents to tackle the highest points in Western Europe and Italy. With no prior experience or idea of what was involved, somewhat remarkably, everybody summited. If you can bear the drivel, here it is.

James Cowen
Age: 31
Relevant Experience: Has a close relative who has completed all the Munros. Even managed one of them himself.
Tim Barlow
Age: 33
Relevant Experience: Walks 12 minutes (vertical ascent 5m) to work each day. And back.
Michael Cowen
Age:21
Relevant Experience: Afore mentioned close relative of James.
George Crawford
Age:32
Relevant Experience: Should be disqualified as done a marathon and several other senseless events. We needed to avoid the single supplement though.
James Mawson
Age - older than some but younger than others!
Relevant experience - a small amount of bagging experience but will always deny this in public
